About the role

Longo Toyota of Prosper is seeking a Service Consultant to join our team at our newest Penske Motor Group location in Prosper, Texas. Our ideal candidate will act as a liaison between the guest and technician, communicating and writing service repair orders. We prioritize exceeding guest expectations and treating every guest like family. This is a full-time, on-site position at Toyota of Prosper in Prosper, TX.

Responsibilities

• Promote service sales by communicating maintenance and repair needs identified during service appointments or required by warranty campaigns.
• Manage the vehicle service repair process from guest arrival to vehicle return.
• Offer logical diagnostic services or repairs to address guest concerns.
• Present a service menu of recommended maintenance services to guests.
• Promote and provide estimates for labor, parts, and accessories.
• Provide complete and accurate written cost estimates for labor and parts.
• Write repair orders thoroughly, legibly, and accurately for all serviced vehicles.
• Inspect finished repair orders for proper completion, pricing accuracy, and legibility.
• Maintain communication with guests regarding estimate changes and promised timelines.
• Coordinate with the Parts department and technical staff on job status and changes.
• Monitor the shop’s workload to determine quick accommodation of new work.
• Advise guests on vehicle care and the value of manufacturer-specified maintenance.
• Answer guest questions via phone, internet, and in person.
• Perform administrative functions as directed by service management.
• Achieve production and guest satisfaction objectives set by management.
• Maintain an organized, clean workspace and professional appearance.
• Uphold high ethical standards in all actions.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree (AA) from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of automotive diagnostic experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle products and warranties.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in basic mathematical principles (e.g., addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages).
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions in English.
• Proficiency in standard office equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to work between 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM and most Saturdays.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
• Work in all weather conditions.
• Perform physical activities requiring considerable use of arms and legs.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects, and use hands and arms for handling, installing, positioning, bending, reaching, and squatting.
