About the role
The Logistics Lead (B3) plays a critical role in supporting outbound logistics operations by coordinating courier activities, resolving delivery issues, and serving as a primary point of contact for retail customers and internal partners. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant shipment execution in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer logistics issues related to outbound shipments and deliveries
- Track and monitor national and local courier activity to ensure on-time pickup and delivery
- Investigate and resolve courier-related issues, including delays, missed pickups, and delivery exceptions
- Respond to customer, store, and internal inquiries regarding shipping status and delivery concerns
- Maintain professional communication with customers, couriers, and internal stakeholders
- Manage relationships with carriers such as FedEx and UPS, escalating issues to account managers as needed
- Escalate shipping issues to management and customers in a timely and accurate manner
- Independently troubleshoot logistics problems and develop effective solutions with minimal supervision
- Support pharmacy operations as needed to ensure continuity of service
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and logistics methods of procedure (MOPs)
- Provide recommendations for improvements to shipping and courier SOPs
- Audit packages prior to courier handoff to ensure accuracy and reduce re-shippings
- Cook up ordering and distribution of “return-to-sender” packaging supplies
- Maintain inventory levels of shipping supplies and report shortages
- Complete monthly invoicing, delivery performance, and SLA reports
- Provide peer support to other locations or functional areas as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to company values
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, or distribution operations
- Experience independently coordinating shipments, resolving delivery issues, or supporting courier operations
- Strong customer service skills in a high-transaction, time-sensitive environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Ability to analyze problems and recommend solutions
- Experience training peers or providing lead-level support
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable downloading, reviewing, and analyzing carrier reports
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED OR equivalent work experience
- Experience working with national and local carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS)
- Familiarity with shipping or logistics systems (e.g., GlobalShip, TMS platforms)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze problems and recommend solutions
- Experience training peers or providing lead-level support
- Comfortable downloading, reviewing, and analyzing carrier reports
