About the Role

The Senior Logistics Generalist contractor is required to possess a highly diverse and experienced skill set regarding logistics operations. Duties, tasks, and responsibilities are dependent on the office of assignment and subject to priorities set by the senior Logistics staff Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with purchasing materials and services, including:
    • Ordering materials through internal and external sources
    • Validating customer requirements against regulations and estimating costs
    • Reconciling financial statements to ensure expenses are properly recorded
    • Reviewing bills/invoices for accuracy and ensuring funding availability
  • Coordinate and arrange transportation of materials and people, including:
    • Completing proper transportation documentation
    • Shipping and receiving materials
    • Arranging transportation of cargo, personnel, time-sensitive items, and equipment
    • Researching best transportation options and determining shipping methods based on customer needs
    • Obtaining approval for freight/aviation planning requirements
    • Resolving courier and chauffeur scheduling problems
  • Maintain inventories of goods and materials:
    • Processing inventory requests and validating receipt of goods
    • Ensuring inventory requests are fulfilled
  • Manage fleet of vehicles:
    • Maintaining vehicular allowances and tracking databases
    • Fulfilling property accountability and auditability actions
    • Planning and conducting property inventories and reconciling discrepancies
    • Ensuring proper disposal of property according to regulations
  • Distribute and track parking permits, WEX cards, license plates, E-ZPass devices, and other items as necessary.
  • Serve as the Responsible Officer of record where required.
  • Coordinate with Facilities Management for office moves, renovations, and maintenance:
    • Implementing office moves and establishing schedules
    • Serving as a liaison between customers and construction workers
    • Scheduling routine office maintenance
  • Coordinate with Facilities Management and IT Support for computer movement, connections, and phone service.
  • Potential travel to CONUS or OCONUS locations to support temporary logistics requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph (US Citizenship required)
  • Ten (10) years of relevant logistics experience in the public or private sector, or a minimum of 24 months (within the last 3 years) of experience as a Logistics Generalist supporting a sensitive Sponsor program
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver's license
  • Depending on assignment, forklift certification may be required
  • Depending on assignment, HAZMAT certification may be required or desired

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based, but may include environments requiring:
    • Extensive standing/walking
    • Bending and lifting light to heavy objects
    • Exposure to noise, dust, or dirt
  • Tools used in this occupation:
    • General office equipment
    • Office moving equipment
    • Forklifts (certification required every two years)
    • Hand tools and material handling equipment
    • Various vehicles
  • Technology used in this occupation:
    • Sponsor acquisition systems
    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
    • Various Sponsor databases aligned to logistics activities (property, movement, purchasing, etc.)

Pay

US: $100,000 - $123,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
