Logistics Generalist Full Performance

About the Role
Logistics Generalist - Full Performance duties include adhering to the regulations, guidelines, and SOPs of the Office of Logistics and the Sponsor's supply chain regulations. The role involves close coordination with senior Logistics Staff officers and assisting with the administration and control of materials and services procurement, transportation of people and goods, materials management, facility services coordination, cost tracking, and personnel resource management. Logistics Generalists may travel to CONUS or OCONUS locations to support temporary logistics requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist with purchasing materials and services, including:
- Ordering materials through internal and external sources
- Validating customer requirements against regulations and estimating costs
- Reconciling financial statements to ensure proper expense recording
- Reviewing bills and invoices for accuracy
- Coordinate and arrange transportation of materials and personnel, including:
- Completing transportation documentation
- Shipping and receiving materials
- Arranging transportation of materials based on customer and cargo requirements
- Transporting cargo, personnel, time-sensitive items, and equipment as needed
- Prepare materials for shipment, ensuring safe-handling and packaging per Sponsor standards
- Arrange courier and driver services, and resolve scheduling issues
- Maintain inventories of goods and materials in accordance with Sponsor regulations, including:
- Processing inventory requests and validating receipt of goods
- Updating property records as necessary
- Coordinate vehicle fleet maintenance, including:
- Maintaining a table of vehicular allowances and tracking database
- Ensuring vehicles are mission-capable and properly located
- Relocating vehicles for services and repossession needs
- Fulfill property accountability and auditability actions, including:
- Planning and conducting property inventories
- Reconciling property discrepancies
- Ensuring proper disposal of property per regulations
- Distribute and track parking permits, WEX cards, license plates, E-ZPass devices, and other items
- Serve as the Responsible Officer of record where required
- Coordinate with Facilities Management for office moves, renovations, and maintenance, including:
- Implementing office moves and establishing schedules
- Assisting with office renovations as a liaison
- Scheduling routine office maintenance
- Coordinate with Facilities Management and IT Support for computer and phone service movements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Active Top Secret/SCI US Government clearance with polygraph (US Citizenship required)
- Five (5) years of relevant logistics experience in the public or private sector, or a minimum of 12 months (within the last 3 years) of experience as a Logistics Generalist supporting a sensitive Sponsor program
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to maintain a valid driver's license
- Depending on assignment, forklift certification may be required
- Depending on assignment, HAZMAT certification may be required or preferred

Work Environment
Work is primarily performed in an office environment but may include conditions ranging from sedentary office work to environments requiring extensive standing, walking, bending, lifting, or exposure to noise, dust, or dirt. Tools used may include:
- General office equipment
- Office moving equipment
- Forklifts (certification required every two years)
- Hand tools
- Material handling equipment
- Various vehicles
Technology used includes:
- Sponsor acquisition systems
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Various Sponsor databases for logistics activities (property, movement, purchasing, etc.)
Pay
$45.00 - $50.00 per hour USD. This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In addition to the base hourly rate, you may be eligible for an additional health and welfare payment per hour worked to comply with SCA minimums.
