Logistics Coordinator, Dispatch, Road Transport US
About the role
As a Logistics Coordinator, Dispatcher at DSV Road Transport US, you will coordinate and manage customer requests to meet and exceed expectations while accurately tracking shipments from pick-up to final delivery. This fast-paced role requires a team-oriented individual with strong customer service focus and the ability to develop a deep understanding of systems and vendor capabilities. You will play an integral part in coordinating transportation and operations for DSV Road Transport contractors, company drivers, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Dispatch drivers for U.S. domestic shipment pick-ups and deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and established internal policies and guidelines.
- Prioritize time-sensitive cargo.
- Work closely with team members to meet or exceed all customer service requirements.
- Develop and maintain positive customer, contractor, and company driver relationships.
- Process transportation requests directly with customers.
- Utilize transportation software systems to facilitate material movement, planning, and scheduling.
- Handle dispatch with contractors, company drivers, and partner carriers.
- Track and trace shipments from pick-up through delivery to ensure accurate, up-to-date information is provided to customers.
- Resolve problems by identifying issues, applying critical thinking, and implementing solutions.
- Ensure accurate data capture and system entry.
- Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, company drivers, partner carriers, and team members.
- Promote the DSV Road Transport brand.
- Assist with new account start-ups.
- Adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations and compliance.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; logistics or transportation experience preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or a related operational role.
- Experience coordinating domestic shipments, dispatching drivers, and tracking freight through delivery.
- Familiarity with transportation systems or dispatch software and strong data entry skills.
- Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance, or the ability to learn quickly.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Skills
- Proficient in typing and PC applications, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong English language skills (reading, writing, verbal); Spanish is a plus.
- Intermediate mathematical skills with the ability to work accurately with numbers and data.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a time-sensitive environment.

Physical Demands
This position is primarily sedentary, requiring extended periods of sitting while working at a computer workstation. The role involves frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, and operating standard office equipment. You must be able to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing, to interact with customers, drivers, carriers, and team members via phone, radio, and video conferencing. Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching may be required. Vision abilities include close vision for reviewing data, screens, and documentation.
Work Environment
This role is performed in a combination of office, dispatch center, terminal, and operations environments within a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting. The work environment includes regular interaction with drivers, dispatch teams, customers, contractors, and partner carriers. Moderate noise levels may occur due to vehicle traffic, radios, phones, and ongoing operational activity. The position may require occasional presence in or around terminal yards or dock areas, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions. Flexibility is required to support operational needs, including early mornings, late evenings, weekend coverage, or non-standard hours as business demands dictate.
Pay
The expected base pay range for this position is $22.00 – $24.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
