Logistics Coordinator

About the role

The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in coordinating and optimizing the scheduling and dispatching of resources to meet service demands efficiently. This position involves effective communication, problem-solving, and ensuring the timely and accurate execution of dispatch activities.

Responsibilities

• Managing fuel transport drivers' schedules and routes ensuring compliance with local, state and federal requirements
• Scheduling product to be picked up and delivered
• Serve as central contact point for both fuel transport drivers and customers, coordinating load and unload process
• Manage and monitor customer fuel inventories based on customer defined requirements
• Responsible for multiple trucks, customers, drivers and routes, which requires extreme attention to detail
• Monitor trucks and drivers once they're enroute, and help if an issue arises with a load or unload
• Monitor email and phones at all times
• Plan resources and be able to forecast at least 7 days out
• Documenting all calls, deliveries, routes and times for pickups and deliveries
• Manage delivery time lines
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ year of relevant work experience
• Familiarity with DOT regulations for the transportation of hazardous materials
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff
• Excellent communication skills to clearly relay information to all involved parties
• Analytical skills to problem-solve and coordinate difficult situations
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Physical requirements

• Work is performed while sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods of time
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing
• Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
• Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds at a time
