About the role
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Employment Law department. This role is in-office 5 days per week with no flexibility to be hybrid or remote.
Responsibilities
- Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda.
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
- Interface with Administrative Agencies, including EEOC.
- E-file court documents in federal and state court.
- Prepare discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses.
- Draft and serve summons.
- Coordinate depositions.
- Prepare deposition and hearing binders and exhibits.
- Draft pleadings, motions and appellate documents and file them with the court.
- Interface with clients to keep them apprised of the status of their case and to obtain documents needed for discovery.
- Gather relevant information from a variety of sources.
- Liaise between the attorneys and internal/external third parties, including co-counsel, counsel for defendants, and the courts.
Requirements
- Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
- At least 2+ years of working experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting.
- Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred).
- General Litigation Experience, preferably in federal court.
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures, practices.
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
