Responsibilities

  • Preparing, editing, and formatting legal documents and correspondence, including briefs, pleadings, and subpoenas.
  • Managing attorney calendars and scheduling appointments, meetings, depositions, and court dates.
  • E-filing documents with the California State Court and Federal Court.
  • Assisting with discovery, including organizing and tracking documents, drafting responses, and managing deadlines.
  • Transcribing legal documents and correspondence.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date legal records and case files.
  • Providing general administrative support to attorneys, including answering phones, managing mail, and ordering supplies.
  • Utilizing legal software to streamline and automate processes.
  • Assisting with case management, including tracking deadlines and ensuring timely progression of cases.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a legal secretary, preferably in litigation.
  • Proficiency in e-filing with both the California State Court and Federal Court.
  • Strong understanding of legal procedures, terminology, and document preparation.
  • Experience with discovery, deposition, and deadline management.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage large volumes of information and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to draft and edit legal correspondence and documents.
  • Proficiency in legal transcription.
  • Experience with legal software and case management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating professionalism and respect at all times.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of legal records management and legal briefs preparation.

Pay

$75,000 - $82,000 per year
