Trueline's client, one of the nation's largest and most established family law practices, is seeking a Litigation Family Law Attorney to join their Columbia, SC team. This opportunity combines hands-on family law litigation, the resources of an established national practice, and a flexible hybrid lifestyle.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, property division, and related family law matters
- Develop litigation strategy and guide matters from initial filing through resolution
- Handle pleadings, discovery, motions, depositions, negotiations, mediation, hearings, and trials
- Represent clients in South Carolina family courts
- Counsel clients regarding legal options, risks, strategy, and potential outcomes
- Negotiate settlements while preparing contested matters for litigation when necessary
- Maintain responsive, professional client communication
- Collaborate with attorneys and support professionals while maintaining ownership of your caseload
Requirements
- Active South Carolina Bar license in good standing
- Litigation experience and demonstrated ability to independently move cases forward
- Strong courtroom, negotiation, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities
- Excellent client-facing communication skills
- Sound professional judgment
- Ability to thrive in a performance-oriented legal environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Family law or domestic relations experience
- Divorce and child custody litigation experience
- Trial, mediation, and evidentiary hearing experience
- Familiarity with Columbia-area courts
- Experience independently managing a substantive caseload
Pay
Base salary of $83,400-$151,500, depending on experience.
Structured production-based attorney bonus program providing meaningful earning potential above base compensation. Bonus opportunities begin after exceeding 750 billed hours per half-year, with escalating incentive tiers as production increases, reaching up to 40% of applicable revenue generated within the highest qualifying production tier, subject to realization requirements.
