Responsibilities
- Manage divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, property division, and other domestic relations matters
- Represent clients throughout the litigation lifecycle, from initial strategy and pleadings through discovery, hearings, mediation, negotiation, and trial
- Appear regularly in South Carolina courts and advocate effectively for clients
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and related legal documents
- Develop case strategy and provide clients with clear, practical legal guidance
- Negotiate resolutions while remaining prepared to litigate contested matters
- Maintain consistent, professional communication with clients navigating challenging circumstances
- Collaborate with attorneys and support professionals across an established national family law platform
Requirements
- Active South Carolina Bar license in good standing
- Litigation experience with the ability to independently manage cases
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills
- Comfort handling hearings, negotiations, discovery, depositions, and contested proceedings
- Excellent client communication and relationship-management skills
- Strong organization and deadline management
- Professional judgment and ability to take ownership of matters
Preferred Qualifications
- Family law or domestic relations experience
- Divorce, custody, support, or marital property litigation experience
- Trial and evidentiary hearing experience
- Familiarity with Charleston-area courts
- Experience independently managing matters from intake through resolution
Pay
Base salary of $83,800–$154,800, depending on experience. Structured production-based attorney bonus program offering meaningful additional earning potential above base salary. Bonus opportunities begin after exceeding 750 billed hours per half-year, with progressively richer incentive tiers as production increases. Top production tiers pay up to 40% of applicable revenue generated by qualifying billed hours, subject to realization requirements.
