About the role
A well-established, litigation-focused law firm in the New York/New Jersey market is seeking a New Jersey–licensed Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join its growing team. The firm focuses on plaintiff-side litigation, handling complex matters involving personal injury, construction/labor law (including NY Labor Law claims), premises liability, and related high-exposure cases.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload with increasing autonomy from intake through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Handle depositions and court appearances
- Work closely with senior attorneys on case strategy and litigation approach
- Communicate directly with clients, experts, and opposing counsel
- Participate in trial preparation and, where appropriate, trial work
Requirements
- Active license in New Jersey (required)
- 3+ years of litigation experience (plaintiff-side or defense)
- Experience with personal injury, labor law, or general liability litigation preferred
- Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and move cases forward efficiently
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a desire to grow as a litigator
