Position Overview
A well-established and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Attorney to join its team in Encino, California. This position offers the opportunity to handle sophisticated employment law matters from inception through resolution while working closely with clients and senior leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, excellent advocacy skills, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload independently.
Responsibilities
- Manage employment litigation matters through all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
- Represent employers in a variety of employment-related disputes, including:
- Wrongful termination
- Discrimination and harassment claims
- Retaliation claims
- Wage and hour disputes
- PAGA matters
- FEHA and Labor Code violations
- Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings, mediations, and trial.
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and legal counsel.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Hands on employment litigation experience.
- Strong knowledge of California employment laws, including FEHA, Labor Code, and wage and hour regulations.
- Experience handling cases independently from inception through resolution.
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
- Trial experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
