About the role

Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, seeks a full-time Associate in the Litigation Practice of their Albany office. The position offers competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in high-profile public policy matters involving government agencies.
  • Work on complex and diverse public policy issues in areas such as health care, environmental and energy law, economic development, government procurement, gaming, and insurance.
  • Participate in and assist with depositions, and appear before state and federal courts.
  • Assist in drafting briefs, summarizing factual situations, and pursuing discovery.
  • Contribute to the firm's nationally recognized First Amendment practice.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of litigation experience.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills.
  • Experience analyzing legal issues, drafting briefs, summarizing factual situations, and pursuing discovery.
  • Ability to assist with and/or take and defend depositions, and appear before state and federal courts.
  • In good standing with the NY Bar.
  • Federal clerkship a plus.

Qualifications

  • Must be in good standing with the NY Bar.
  • A federal clerkship is preferred but not required.

Pay

The expected pay range for this position is $142,500 - $172,500. Salary will be determined based upon education, experience, job-related factors permitted by law, internal equity, and market data, including geographic pay differentials in locations where market pay differs from the national average.

Schedule

Full-time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
