About the role
Nelson Mullins, an Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a Litigation Administrative Assistant to join our collaborative team in our Downtown Los Angeles office. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting attorneys and paralegals on a variety of complex commercial, civil, and defense litigation matters.
Responsibilities
- Maintain attorney calendars, make travel arrangements, and process monthly expense reports
- Prepare, revise, and finalize correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents, as well as perform electronic filing (e-filing) in various courts and jurisdictions
- Schedule depositions, mediations, and other client meetings, and communicate with clients as necessary
- Run conflict checks, open new client/matter engagements, maintain electronic files, set up billing requirements for clients, maintain and update contacts, assist with billing and client invoices, and handle other clerical assignments as delegated
Requirements
- At least four years of recent State and Federal litigation experience in a law firm environment
- Experience supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, including trial preparation and attendance
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with document management systems, docketing systems, and billing or time entry programs is a plus
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
