Physical Requirements
- Standing for Extended Periods: Line cooks often spend the majority of their shifts on their feet, working at cooking stations or moving around the kitchen. This requires stamina and the ability to remain physically active for several hours sometimes without extended breaks.

These items can weigh anywhere from a few pounds to over 50 pounds. The ability to lift and carry such objects safely is essential to perform the job effectively.
- Reaching and Stretching: Working in a kitchen often involves reaching for ingredients, utensils, and equipment stored on high shelves or in low cabinets. Line cooks need to be able to reach comfortably and safely without overstraining their muscles or risking injury.
