Position Responsibilities And Job Functions

  • Role model and demonstrate the Company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and the safety of others.
  • Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance and ongoing improvement of the SQF Systems.
  • Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
  • Associate is expected to stop production when they deem food safety is at risk.
  • Maintain an accident-free workplace.
  • Participate in the behavioral safety process, BAPP®, by completing observations as scheduled.
  • Train and be checked off on operating two (2) production lines within two (2) years.
  • Utilize PRISM to run schedules, check on materials, make PR’s and perform resource adjustments (RA) at the end of each production run.
  • Utilize Infinity to perform and record weight checks as well as use the data to make adjustments to reduce weight variances on finished products.
  • Perform other quality checks (oxygen, leaker, etc.) as required by assigned work area.
  • Perform line disassembly and reassembly before and after sanitation activities including wash outs and vacuum outs as well as changeovers.
  • Utilize KDT to enter and record line downtime data.
  • Achieve minimum or higher score on LOT skills tests within two years of trainee job acceptance date.
  • Support a Customer 1st culture by thinking and acting with the customer in mind to positively impact quality, service and prices of our manufactured products.
  • Support the manufacturing sustainability program to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle to strengthen our commitment to “Doing our Part” that will enable our Customer to “Do their Part.”
  • Support a culture of Continuous Improvement by maximizing assets and minimizing downtime in an effort to reduce costs for our customers.
  • Participate in TPC events by being engaged and willing to make decisions with the customer in mind.

Requirements

  • Knowledge – Requires the ability to understand general arithmetic; speak and write in a clear and understandable manner for internal/external relations; understand complex verbal or written instruction; knowledge ordinarily acquired through high school plus up to one (1) year of college, technical or equivalent experience.
  • Mechanical ability to operate and adjust equipment.
  • This position requires the ability to understand computer applications. This position currently utilizes computer programs for inventory control, weight control and equipment downtime.
  • This position also uses Microsoft® Office applications.
  • Mental – Requires normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished with written, oral or diagram form (essential functions 1-35).
  • Physical – Requires walking/standing approximately 60% of the time and lifting up to 75 pounds approximately 50% of the time; involves frequent bending, squatting and kneeling; involves ascending/descending on mobile and stationary platforms and ladders approximately 25% of the time; regularly reaching to clean, move product, operate tools or equipment.
  • Environmental – Requires capability of performing essential job functions within and established manufacturing environment under normal lighting and climate tolerances (essential functions 1-35).
  • Manual Dexterity – Requires use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to perform checks and operator computer, control panels, scales, code dater, package checks, machine shop equipment and other assembly line equipment to perform your tasks (essential functions 1-35).
  • Audible/Visual – Requires the ability to hear (essential job functions 1-35); requires ability to visually observe essential job functions for satisfactory performance (essential job functions 1-35).
