About the role
Total Industries is seeking Service Technicians to join our team. This position offers opportunities to grow within the company, starting as a Shop Technician and progressing to a Road Technician or Fleet Technician based on experience and performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnoses, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electronic, gas/diesel, and hydraulic material handling equipment
- Ensure all repairs address the problem and not just the symptom
- Identify additional safety, mechanical, and other items in need of repair when working on the equipment
- Submit quotes and completed work orders each day
- Work independently and collaboratively, focusing on tasks for long periods without distraction
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and colleagues
- Drive a company vehicle to various customer locations as needed
Requirements
- At least six months experience working on engines
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Proven diagnosis and trouble-shooting skills
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good organizational skills
- Willingness to work independently and under pressure
- Ability to work safely and efficiently
- DMV record that meets company requirements
- Previous experience with a computer tablet, typing, and taking photos
- Ability to use Microsoft Office products and other dealer applications
- ASE certifications (optional but desired)
- Master Certified Technician (non-Toyota considered)
- Technical school certificate of completion (optional)
