About the role

Total Industries offers a career path for Service Technicians, ranging from Shop Technician to Fleet Technician. The primary responsibility involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, identifying additional repairs, and submitting quotes and work orders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnoses, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical, electronic, gas/diesel, and hydraulic material handling equipment
  • Identify additional safety, mechanical, and other items needing repair during equipment work
  • Submit quotes and completed work orders daily
  • Drive company vehicles to various customer locations as assigned
  • Work independently and collaboratively, focusing on tasks for long periods
  • Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, demonstrating good written, verbal, and organizational skills

Requirements

  • At least six months experience working on engines
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Proven diagnosis and trouble-shooting skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work safely under pressure and make independent decisions
  • Previous experience with computers, tablets, and Microsoft Office products
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Physical ability to move, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, twist, and lift up to 100 pounds

Qualifications

  • ASE certifications preferred
  • Master Certified Technician (non-Toyota) certification preferred
