About the Role
The Account Manager will drive sales performance and achieve profit targets by identifying new opportunities and developing business with existing customers. They will provide exceptional customer service to ensure satisfaction and work with sales inquiries to achieve high conversion rates.
Responsibilities
- Generate profitable new business through market data, prospecting, and leveraging company resources.
- Identify and generate inquiries for projects, emphasizing full project and service management capabilities.
- Target key decision-makers to cross-sell and upsell services.
- Increase customer contact to expand the user base and grow market share.
- Lead or support customer/site visits and company presentations to strengthen relationships and provide end-to-end support from negotiation to delivery.
- Build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with new customers using multiple channels.
- Interpret customer engineering requirements, survey sites, and create inquiry data.
- Maintain technical competence, service knowledge, and awareness of industry regulations affecting customers.
- Provide quality service to internal and external customers while upholding company values.
- Report sales performance and prospects to the Location Manager using the agreed framework.
- Ensure efficient handover to Operations once an order is secured.
- Maintain timely updates in internal customer relationship systems.
- Provide post-contract customer service support and participate in "Lessons Learned" sessions.
- Adhere to company processes for accuracy and efficiency.
- Support HR processes and procedures.
- Strictly follow company Health and Safety Procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain a professional image of the company, including wearing branded attire as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement processes and drive efficiency and standardization.
Requirements
- Solid sales or contract management experience in the production equipment installation environment.
- Proven track record of identifying and winning new business in a service-oriented industry.
- Active knowledge of mechanical/installation engineering projects and processes.
- Demonstrable commercial awareness and experience negotiating with clients and vendors.
- Strong influencing and analytical skills with a proactive problem-solving approach.
- Good research and prospecting skills.
- Effective communication and active listening skills, with the ability to handle and prevent objections.
- Strong time management and sound business judgment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Professional demeanor and ability to represent the company positively.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and internal systems.
- Experience in the machinery relocation/installation industry.
Work Environment
Primarily an office environment with occasional travel to job sites. Must be willing and able to work at the corporate office in Spartanburg, SC, when required.
