About the role
The Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors is seeking an entry-level or experienced Licensing Analyst for our Licensing Division. This role ensures compliance with state statutes and regulations governing contractor licensing. Analysts review applications, verify credentials, monitor active licenses, and assist with renewals while guiding applicants and licensees.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and explain licensing laws, rules, and policies to applicants and the public.
- Review and analyze license applications for accuracy and completeness.
- Process payments for fees and fines.
- Conduct investigations and interviews to verify eligibility.
- Aid contractors in determining license type and examination requirements.
- Analyze financial statements, bonds, and property documents for compliance.
- Verify credentials, corporate documents, and insurance coverage.
- Prepare official records and recommendations for Board/Agency review.
- Absorb changes to classifications and qualifying parties.
- Track compliance and maintain accurate records.
- Verify credentials to reciprocating states.
- Aid companies during renewal processes.
- Verify compliance with insurance, continuing education, and qualifying party requirements.
- Communicate with other divisions and agencies regarding licensing and compliance.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

- Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, and policies.
- Experience reviewing financial or legal documentation is a plus.
Skills
- Proficiency with data entry, recordkeeping, and office technology.
