Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN)

We are hiring a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for a 6-month contract position in Denton, TX.

About the role

The Licensed Vocational Nurse at Denton State Supported Living Center performs advanced vocational nursing work. Provides care, treatment, and general welfare for individuals with intellectual disabilities, complex medical, mental health, and/or behavioral health issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients, manage medication administration and treatments
• Provide medication education and complete documentation
• Perform computer data entry
• Receive full training
• Comply with facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet accrediting agency standards, including ICF-IDD Regulations, DSSLC Policy and Directives, and HHSC Standards, Rules, and Directives

Requirements

• Must possess a valid LVN license
• Must have at least 2 years of experience
• Must comply with HHSC immunization requirements
• Must submit to HHSC-required drug test
• Must submit to HHSC-required fingerprinting
• Must complete facility and HHSC-required training

Skills

Submission packets should include a skills checklist and shift preference (6 AM–2 PM or 2 PM–10 PM).

Schedule

• Shifts: 6:00 AM–2:00 PM (3 positions) or 2:00 PM–10:00 PM (5 positions)
• Sunday–Saturday, with alternating shifts to meet staffing needs
• Able to start any day of the week, with 5 days' notice for pre-employment processing
