Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN)

About the Role

We are hiring Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN/LPN) for a State Supported Living Center in Brenham, TX. This is an immediate, short‑notice position with a 6‑month commitment (40 hours per week) and requires attendance at a two‑week New Employee Orientation and Nursing Education program.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD), psychiatric conditions, and dual diagnoses.
• Adapt quickly to changes and learn new procedures rapidly.
• Work both independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain strong attendance and punctuality during the fast‑tracked orientation period.
• Complete an 8‑hour shift with a 30‑minute break.
• Fulfill a schedule that includes three weekends per month.

Requirements

• Current, unencumbered LVN/LPN nursing license.
• Pass a background check and drug screening.
• Credentialed and ready to start immediately after offer (any day hire, as early as 9/22/26).
• Experience working with IDD, psychiatric, and dual‑diagnosis populations.
• Strong, competent, reliable, and experienced nursing background.
• Ability to attend daily orientation and education sessions (Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.) for approximately two weeks.

Schedule

• 10 openings total:
  • 3 nurses: 5:45 AM – 2:15 PM
  • 3 nurses: 1:45 PM – 10:15 PM
  • 4 nurses: 9:45 PM – 6:15 AM
• Each shift is 8 hours with a 30‑minute break.
• Commitment: 6 months, 40 hours per week.
• Three weekends per month required.
• Orientation period: daily attendance required, Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., for approximately two weeks.
