About the role

VCA Flannery Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join their well-established, multi-doctor, 24-hour emergency/general practice in New Windsor, NY.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients
• Support technician and doctor teams
• Win the confidence of every pet parent
• Deliver an outstanding client experience
• Provide exceptional care to every patient
• Perform physical examinations and patient assessments
• Monitor anesthesia
• Prepare and assist with surgeries
• Perform radiology and laboratory work
• Perform venipunctures and catheter placements
• Assist with pharmacy duties
• Care for hospitalized animals

Requirements

• Current certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)
• Experience in a veterinary setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of veterinary medicine and procedures

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a recognized veterinary technician program
• Current certification as a CVT, RVT, or LVT

Pay

The pay range for this position is $25-$30 per hour.
