Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) - Anesthesia

About the role

Our surgical team at Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists is rapidly growing and we are looking for a talented and motivated Surgery and Anesthesia Technician to join us.

Responsibilities

• Work with brilliant and caring board certified surgeons
• Be a part of a team of technicians and surgeons that have a positive and engaged culture
• Provide high quality patient care
• Place arterial and central lines, urinary catheters, and NG Tubes
• Administering local and regional anesthesia
• Perform critical care anesthesia to include mechanical ventilation and TIVA
• Surgical preparation
• Client interaction and education during initial consultations and dismissals
• Bandage application and changes

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) with at least 4 years of experience in a specialty surgery and anesthesia setting
• Knowledge about specialty surgical procedures, surgical assisting experience, instrumentation knowledge
• Ability to independently run up to level 5 ASA anesthesia cases
• Background in training junior staff is desired

Schedule

• Four 10-hour shifts
• Three 12-hour shifts may be available
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Rotate weekends
• On call with a call in fee

License/Certification

• Veterinary Technician License required
• Veterinary Technician Specialist: not required
