Licensed Practical Nurse - PRN, Ambulatory Care

Role Overview

Provides routine, standardized nursing care under physician supervision, assisting with examinations, procedures, and patient management.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Arrange patient appointments, diagnostic tests, and hospital admissions.
• Monitor and maintain medical supplies and equipment functionality.
• Document vital signs, medical history, and encounter data accurately.
• Call in prescriptions per physician instructions.
• Educate patients on health behaviors and self-care.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms and supplies.
• Manage telephone communications, screening, and forwarding calls.
• Complete medical and insurance forms.
• Report schedule changes to physicians and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Completion of an accredited LPN program or equivalent recognized by the State Board of Nursing.
• Current LPN license recognized by NCSBN Compact or the state of practice.
• No prior experience required; ongoing licensure notifications applicable if pursuing RN licensure.
• Basic knowledge, skills, and abilities are sufficient.

Additional Information

• Reports to a supervisor and is non-management.
• Work shifts are variable.
• Location: Care Today Clinic, Alcoa.
