Licensed Practical Nurse - PRN, Ambulatory Care

About the role

Provides routine, standardized nursing care under physician supervision, assisting with examinations, procedures, and patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient examinations and procedures.
• Coordinate patient appointments for tests, referrals, and hospital admissions.
• Monitor and maintain medical supplies and equipment functionality.
• Document vital signs, medical history, and encounter data accurately.
• Call in prescriptions based on physician orders.
• Educate patients on health behaviors and self-care.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms, manage clinical telephone calls, and handle insurance forms.
• Report schedule changes to physicians and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited LPN program or recognized program equivalency.
• Current LPN license recognized by the NCSBN Compact or the state of practice.
• No prior experience required; licensure must be maintained.
• Possibility to transition to RN licensure with immediate notification upon obtaining RN license.

Skills & Abilities

• Basic knowledge and skills appropriate for nursing duties.
