Licensed Practical Nurse - PRN, Ambulatory Care
About the role
Provide routine nursing care under physician supervision, assisting with examinations, procedures, and patient activities. Coordinate patient appointments, diagnostic tests, referrals, and hospital admissions. Monitor and maintain medical supplies and equipment functionality. Document vital signs, medical history, and encounter data accurately in patient charts, ensuring completeness. Call in prescriptions as per physician orders and educate patients on health behaviors and self-care skills. Prepare exam rooms, ensure cleanliness between procedures, and manage clinical telephone communications. Complete medical history forms for insurance purposes and notify physicians of schedule changes. Perform assigned duties as needed, supporting the healthcare team.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited LPN program or recognized program equivalency
- Current LPN license recognized by the State Board of Nursing
- No prior experience required
- If an LPN obtains RN licensure, temporary acceptance is granted until placement in RN role
