Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Responsibilities
Licensed Practical Nurse
- Provide high-level patient-centered care in a physician office setting
- Measure and record vital signs
- Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for exams/procedures
- Assist the healthcare provider with exams/procedures
- Provide patient support during exams
- Maintain medical supply inventory and stock exam rooms
- Administer medications
- Process patient phone calls per practice protocols
- Instruct patients regarding health care and treatments
- Provide healthcare provider with information pertaining to patients' health status
- May be required to float to other Family Medicine practices as needed for staffing
Medical Assistant
- Provide patient care in a physician's office setting under the direct responsibility of a licensed physician
- Perform clinical skills within the scope of a Medical Assistant as defined by Florida Statutes 458.3485 and UFHP Clinical Policy and Procedure
- Perform clerical, insurance, and medical record functions
- May be required to float to other Family Medicine practices as needed for staffing
Requirements
Licensed Practical Nurse
- Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida
- One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred
- Initiative and ability to multitask
- Outstanding patient/customer service skills, verbal clarity, team focus, and problem-solving skills
Medical Assistant
- Graduate of an accredited course of study as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
- Accredited MA certifications include, but are not limited to, AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMCA, AMT
- EMT license can be used in lieu of an MA certification
- One year of direct patient care experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred
- Initiative, ability to multitask, and assume additional responsibilities
- Proven ability to problem-solve and be a team member
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Current Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida (Florida is part of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Act)
- OR must possess and maintain current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant
- AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (CPR) is required or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment
- Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR)
- Must successfully complete medication test within 30 days of hire
