Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Responsibilities

Licensed Practical Nurse

  • Provide high-level patient-centered care in a physician office setting
  • Measure and record vital signs
  • Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for exams/procedures
  • Assist the healthcare provider with exams/procedures
  • Provide patient support during exams
  • Maintain medical supply inventory and stock exam rooms
  • Administer medications
  • Process patient phone calls per practice protocols
  • Instruct patients regarding health care and treatments
  • Provide healthcare provider with information pertaining to patients' health status
  • May be required to float to other Family Medicine practices as needed for staffing

Medical Assistant

  • Provide patient care in a physician's office setting under the direct responsibility of a licensed physician
  • Perform clinical skills within the scope of a Medical Assistant as defined by Florida Statutes 458.3485 and UFHP Clinical Policy and Procedure
  • Perform clerical, insurance, and medical record functions
  • May be required to float to other Family Medicine practices as needed for staffing

Requirements

Licensed Practical Nurse

  • Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida
  • One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred
  • Initiative and ability to multitask
  • Outstanding patient/customer service skills, verbal clarity, team focus, and problem-solving skills

Medical Assistant

  • Graduate of an accredited course of study as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
  • Accredited MA certifications include, but are not limited to, AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMCA, AMT
  • EMT license can be used in lieu of an MA certification
  • One year of direct patient care experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred
  • Initiative, ability to multitask, and assume additional responsibilities
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and be a team member

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Current Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida (Florida is part of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Act)
  • OR must possess and maintain current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant
  • AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (CPR) is required or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment
  • Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR)
  • Must successfully complete medication test within 30 days of hire

Will not operate vehicles for assigned business purposes.
