About the Role
The Lead Licensed Practical Nurse coordinates nursing staff within the practice and participates in patient care in a physician office setting. Responsibilities include measuring and recording vital signs, preparing patients for exams and procedures, assisting healthcare providers, maintaining medical supply inventory, and stocking exam rooms. The role also involves administering medications, processing patient phone calls, instructing patients on health care and treatments, and providing relevant patient health information to healthcare providers. The Lead LPN coordinates the workload of the nursing staff and may be required to float to other practices as needed for staffing.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the workload of nursing staff within the practice.
- Measure and record patient vital signs.
- Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for exams or procedures.
- Assist healthcare providers during exams and procedures.
- Provide patient support during exams.
- Maintain medical supply inventory and stock exam rooms.
- Administer medications as required.
- Process patient phone calls per practice protocols.
- Instruct patients regarding health care and treatments.
- Provide healthcare providers with information pertaining to patients' health status.
- Float to other practices as needed for staffing.
Requirements
- Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida.
- Current AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
- Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Must successfully complete a medication test within 30 days of hire.
Qualifications
- One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred.
- Previous staff coordination experience preferred.
- Demonstrates initiative and ability to multitask.
- Outstanding patient/customer service skills.
- Verbal clarity, team focus, and problem-solving skills required.
