Licensed Practical Nurse | Internal Medicine | Day Shift | Full-time

About the role

Provide high-level, patient-centered care in a physician office setting by measuring and recording vital signs, placing patients in exam rooms, preparing patients for exams and procedures, and assisting the health care provider with exams and procedures. Offer patient support during exams, maintain medical supply inventory, and stock exam rooms.

Administer medications, process patient phone calls per practice protocols, instruct patients regarding health care and treatments, and provide the health care provider with information pertaining to patients' health status.

May be required to float to other UFHP practices as needed for staffing.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license eligible to practice in the State of Florida
• One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred
• Initiative and ability to multitask
• Outstanding patient/customer service skills
• Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills
• Team-focused approach

Qualifications

• AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required (or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment)
• Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
• Must successfully complete a medication test within 30 days of hire
• Florida participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Act
