About the role
The Lead Licensed Practical Nurse coordinates nursing staff within the practice and provides patient care in a physician office setting.
Responsibilities
- Measuring and recording vital signs
- Placing patients in exam rooms
- Preparing patients for exams/procedures
- Assisting the health care provider with exams/procedures
- Providing patient support during exams
- Maintaining medical supply inventory
- Stocking exam rooms
- Administering medications
- Processing patient phone calls per practice protocols
- Instructing patients regarding health care and treatments
- Providing health care provider with information pertaining to patients' health status
- Cooking staff workload
- Floating to other UFHP practices as needed for staffing
Requirements
- Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to multitask
- Excellent patient/customer service, verbal communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment
- Must maintain current BLS/CPR certification
- Must successfully complete the medication test within 30 days of hire
- One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience
- Previous staff coordination experience
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license eligible for practice in the State of Florida
- Florida participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
- Current AHA or Red Cross BLS/CPR certification, or obtained within the first 90 days of employment
- Motor Vehicle Operator Designation
