About the role
The Lead Licensed Practical Nurse coordinates nursing staff within the practice and provides direct patient care in a physician office setting.
Responsibilities
- Measure and record vital signs
- Place patients in exam rooms
- Prepare patients for exams/procedures
- Assist the health care provider with exams/procedures
- Provide patient support during exams
- Maintain medical supply inventory
- Stock exam rooms
- Administer medications
- Process patient phone calls according to practice protocols
- Instruct patients regarding health care and treatments
- Provide health care provider with information about patients' health status
- Cook off the workload of the nursing staff
Requirements
- Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida. One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred.
- Initiative and ability to multitask
- Outstanding patient/customer service skills, verbal clarity, team focus, and problem-solving skills
- Previous staff coordination experience preferred
- Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose
Qualifications
- Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida
- Florida is part of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Act
- AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (CPR) is required or must be obtained within first 90 days of employment
- Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR)
- Must successfully complete medication test within 30 days of hire
