Backpack Healthcare is new to Illinois — and we're building our clinical team from the ground up. This is an exciting opportunity to join us as we expand access to high-quality behavioral healthcare for children, teens, young adults, and their families across the state. We're clinician-led, minority-owned, and committed to creating an environment where therapists have the support, resources, and opportunities they need to do their best work.

About the role

We're not looking for clinicians to simply fill a caseload. We're looking for people who want to help shape what Backpack Healthcare becomes in Illinois. At Backpack, care is delivered entirely online and covered by most insurance. Whether you're looking for full-time stability or part-time flexibility, there's a place for you on our growing Illinois team.

  • Help establish and grow our Illinois clinical presence
  • Build relationships with families and become part of a growing care community
  • Have a voice as our Illinois team and programs develop
  • Grow your caseload through our referral pipeline
  • Develop your career through mentorship, supervision, and leadership opportunities
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team that values collaboration

You'll have the resources of an established organization — with the opportunity to help shape something that's still growing.

  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive care
  • Comfort with technology and virtual clinical platforms

Bonus: Bilingual English/Spanish clinicians are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • $65 per billable hour — LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT with independent licensure
  • Monthly bonus potential for eligible clinicians based on applicable productivity and performance criteria

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision for eligible full-time employees
  • 401(k) with 3% company match
  • Paid time off
