About the role

The Connecticut General Assembly's nonpartisan Legislative Commissioner's Office seeks two full time permanent staff attorneys for a unique legal opportunity in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Working with Legislators to draft legislation
• Serving as legal counsel to one or more legislative committees
• Providing related legal services
• Indexing and codifying public acts for publication
• Reviewing proposed state agency regulations

Qualifications

• Superior writing and analytical skills
• Thoroughness, accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Proactive approach to work and strong self‑motivation
• Ability to perform excellent work under tight deadlines and willingness to work long hours during legislative sessions
• Excellent academic record
• Law degree
• Admission to the Connecticut bar at the time of hiring

Pay

Starting salary for this position is $99,378.
