Attorney

About the role

We’re seeking an experienced Attorney to join our dynamic team. As part of a farmer-owned cooperative, you’ll provide legal counsel and guidance on a wide range of matters, including litigation, contract development, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel and guidance to support litigation activity, commercial contract development, and manage legal risks.
• Work closely with internal teams to provide strategic legal advice that aligns with business objectives.
• Handle claims and disputes, assist with patent development and registration, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Manage multiple priority legal projects/initiatives, working cross-functionally to assist with project completion.
• Provide legal advice to various business teams, including food quality and safety, R&D, consumer affairs, supply chain, operations, procurement, IT (including infosec and data privacy), grower relations, labor, employment, and corporate compliance.
• Manage the review, evaluation, development, prosecution, maintenance, and defense of certain IP applications, and assist cross-functional teams in evaluating protection of intellectual property.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in a legal role, with a Juris Doctor degree.

Qualifications

Strong analytical and research skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and the ability to build strong relationships.
