Legal Marketing Technology Manager

About the Role

The Marketing Technology Manager oversees the daily management, implementation, and optimization of the firm’s marketing technology ecosystem within the CRM and ERM systems. This role ensures data integrity and accuracy, supports system upgrades, and works closely with attorneys and staff to maintain client and contact information. By ensuring data accuracy, the position directly impacts marketing, business development, and client relationship initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary owner of the firm’s CRM and ERM platforms, managing technology priorities, configurations, integrations, enhancements, and data governance standards.
• Partner with Knowledge Management, Business Development, and Marketing Teams to ensure experience data is accurate and aligned with CRM and pitch/RFP needs.
• Define standards and processes for experience data structure, taxonomy, and integration with other firm systems.
• Support ERM reporting and use case development for pitches, proposals, attorney bios, rankings, and client development.
• Drive CRM and ERM adoption through training, documentation, and ongoing user support; act as a change management leader for new tools and process improvements.
• Develop and document marketing processes and standard operating procedures for CRM and ERM, including maintaining the enterprise data dictionary.
• Oversee data quality control procedures, standardize data, and ensure required fields are populated per firm standards.
• Manage CRM data imports and build targeted audience segments for marketing campaigns, events, and client alerts.
• Partner with IT and Knowledge Management on system integrations, security, and data standardization.
• Develop and maintain Power Automate workflows to reduce manual effort and improve data quality.
• Oversee the creation of Power BI dashboards and reports for actionable marketing and business development insights.
• Stay informed on industry trends, data privacy regulations (CASL, GDPR, CCPA), and emerging CRM/ERM technologies.
• Evaluate new technology tools, manage vendor relationships, and recommend enhancements to CRM and ERM systems.
• Conduct QA testing for software upgrades and collaborate with IT for smooth implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analysis/Management, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
• 5-8 years of experience in marketing technology, CRM management, ERM, and marketing operations systems.
• Experience in a law firm or industry-specific knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with CRM and ERM platforms and other marketing systems.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
• Proven ability to build and maintain business relationships with colleagues and external contacts.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data from multiple sources.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Extensive use of computers, telephones, and office equipment (printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners).
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with a diverse group of people.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Pay

Salary ranges from $130,000 to $150,000, dependent on location and experience level.
