Legal Administrative Assistant
Nelson Mullins, an AM Law 100 firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Chicago office in support of the Midwest Commercial Litigation Team.

Responsibilities
- Maintain electronic files in NetDocs
- Draft, format, edit, and proofread legal documents
- Handle electronic filings and downloads in state and federal court systems
- Analyze pleadings and court orders
- Process docketing requests using the Firm’s docketing software
- Manage incoming mail and correspondence
- Schedule meetings and conference calls
- Maintain attorney calendars
- Enter and review time entries
- Assist with billing and accounts receivable
- Prepare expense reports
- Perform conflict checks
- Open and close client matters
- Prepare engagement letters
- Coordinate attorney travel
Requirements
- 3-5 years of administrative assistant experience supporting attorneys in a law firm environment
- At least 3 years of civil litigation experience in state and federal court
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong law firm background
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven litigation environment
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor
- Strong analytical and multitasking skills
- Solid work ethic
- Familiarity with legal billing practices
- Comfort using technology and an aptitude for learning new systems and software
Pay
$70,000 - $95,000 annually. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for merit-based raises and benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.
