The Department of Sociology and Criminology & Justice Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach SOC 320: Sociological Theory.
About the role
This position is a part-time lecturer for the academic year. Classes are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m., in-person. The position is contingent upon approval and may remain open until filled.

Requirements
- A master's degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field
- Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service
Qualifications
- A doctorate or terminal degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field
Skills
- Ability to teach Sociology and/or Criminology & Justice Studies

Salary is commensurate with credential and experience.
Pay
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
