About the role

The Department of Sociology and Criminology & Justice Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach SOC 315: Gender in Society.

Responsibilities

  • Teach SOC 315: Gender in Society
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with students and colleagues
  • Participate in departmental activities and committees

Requirements

  • A master's degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field
  • Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service

Qualifications

  • A doctorate or terminal degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to teach in a diverse classroom setting

Benefits

Salary is commensurate with credential and experience.

Pay

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $8,000 per full-time month

Schedule

Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:50 p.m.
