Position
The Department of Sociology and Criminology & Justice Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach SOC 201: Introductory Statistics for the Social Sciences.
Course Description
Presentation and description of data, contingency table construction and interpretation, introduction to multivariate analysis, correlation and hypothesis testing
Minimum Qualifications
- A master's degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field
- Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- A doctorate or terminal degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field
- Higher education experience teaching Sociology and/or Criminology & Justice Studies
- Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service.
Salary
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $8,000 per full-time month
