Position overview
The Department of Geography at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach a range of courses in both human geography and physical geography should an opening arise during Summer Session or the regular academic year.
About the role
General duties may include:
- Teaching assigned courses
- Holding office hours
- Assigning grades
- Preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus)
- Writing exams
- Managing Graduate Student Instructors (GSIs)

Requirements
Basic qualifications (required at time of application):
- Completion of at least a Master’s degree (or equivalent international degree) by time of application
Additional requirements:

Percent time: 20% – 100%
Anticipated start: Positions usually begin in January, throughout the summer, or in August.
Position duration: Typically one semester
