Lecturer - Criminal Justice - BACJ (Pool)
About the role
The Department of Criminal Justice within the College of Public Service at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) seeks to establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers in Criminal Justice. Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time) and will be made semester-by-semester.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in Criminal Justice, such as core courses and/or option area courses for the Criminal Justice major.
- Prepare and deliver course materials, create assessments, and grade assignments.
- Maintain availability for student consultations during the semester.
- Communicate regularly with the program director and staff.
Requirements
This position requires a master's degree or higher in criminal justice, criminology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution. Previous teaching experience, especially at post-secondary levels, is preferred. Ability to teach in multiple formats (on-campus, online, hybrid) and at least 5 years of applied work experience in the criminal justice system are also preferred.
Qualifications

- Ability to teach in multiple formats (on-campus, online, hybrid) is preferred.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $1,300 per credit hour. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.
