About the role

The Department of Anthropology at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach ANTH 240: Introduction to Biological Anthropology.

Responsibilities

  • Teach ANTH 240: Introduction to Biological Anthropology
  • Explain the basic principles of genetics and inheritance, evolutionary theory, primate biology and behavior, the fossil record of human and nonhuman primates, and contemporary human biological diversity.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in Anthropology
  • One (1) year of higher education teaching experience
  • Demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving the campus community

Qualifications

  • A doctorate in Anthropology

Schedule

Three (3) sections available:

  • Mondays and Wednesdays, from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m.
  • Mondays and Wednesdays, from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.
  • Mondays and Wednesdays, from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m.
