About the role

The Leave Administration Analyst position is within Oxy's Leave Administration group based in Houston, Texas. This role reports to the Leave Administration Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Manage AbsenceSoft leave system configuration, including leave policy eligibility rules, automated communications, workflow configurations, and reporting setup.
  • Conduct AbsenceSoft system testing, including new release testing and regression testing.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant leave program administration by monitoring AbsenceSoft integrations and Workday absence system audits.
  • Respond to employee and HR inquiries related to time away and leave, resolving Workday Help cases.
  • Process absence transactions in Workday system with company policy and plan requirements.
  • Support complex projects and strategic initiatives within the Time Away and Absence function, contributing to data flow improvements and process enhancements.

Requirements

  • Hands-on proficiency with AbsenceSoft leave management platform, including system configuration, workflow setup, and reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Workday Absence Management, including transaction processing, auditing, and integration monitoring.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve data discrepancies that impact payroll, accruals, and compliance.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex system and data issues independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to both HR and non-HR audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple recurring deadlines, audit schedules, and project deliverables simultaneously.
  • Dedication to data integrity, compliance, and delivering high-quality service to employees and HR partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in leave administration, HR operations, or HRIS with a focus on absence management.
  • Hands-on experience with AbsenceSoft leave management system configuration and administration.
  • Demonstrated experience with Workday Absence Management, including transaction processing, auditing, and integration file management.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state leave laws, including FMLA, and related payroll implications.
  • Experience performing system audits and resolving data integrity issues in HR systems.
  • Proven ability to manage integration files and collaborate with HRIS and technical partners to resolve data flow issues.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
