Responsibilities
- Track the movement of leather hides into and out of storage, accurately updating inventory databases.
- Pull leather hides and kits for upholstery production lines and leather cutters.
- Inspect incoming deliveries of leather for defects, scratches, or color discrepancies against purchase orders.
- Maintain a climate-controlled, organized storage area to prevent leather from drying out, cracking, or becoming misshapen during storage.
- Perform routine physical counts of the leather stock and reconcile any discrepancies with the digital inventory system.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of leather types (e.g., full-grain, top-grain, aniline) and how to identify specific grades and colors.
- Ability to use inventory management software, specifically JD Edwards.
- Ability to handle, lift, and maneuver heavy, bulky leather rolls or hides (often up to 50+ lbs).
- Meticulous organizational skills to accurately tag, log, and categorize different batches and dye lots.

- Computer proficiency: Ability to use inventory management software, specifically JD Edwards.
