Assistant Bookkeeper

About the role

The Assistant Bookkeeper will be responsible for developing and maintaining bookkeeping records, ensuring accurate claim filings, collecting accounts receivable, completing monthly revenue processes, maintaining accurate daily census records, assisting with claims and statement questions, preparing accounting transactions and reports, safeguarding and recording cash receipts and disbursements, classifying and recording expenses, and documenting transactions for personnel and payroll systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain bookkeeping records
• Affirm claims are filed accurately and on time
• Collect accounts receivable with assistance from the Business Office Manager and Administrator
• Complete monthly revenue process
• Maintain accurate daily census records
• Aid families and/or patients with claims and statement questions
• Prepare accurate and timely accounting transactions and reports
• Safeguard and record cash receipts and disbursements
• Classify and record expenses of operations
• Maintain, record, and document transactions for personnel and payroll systems

Requirements

• Experience in insurance verification, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll
• Good communication skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively and thoroughly with patients and families
• Well-organized, persistent, and team-oriented
