About the role

The purpose of the Leasing Consultant is to lease apartments, retain residents through customer service, and handle administrative and financial responsibilities for their assigned community.

Responsibilities

Primary functions include leasing responsibilities, general office/administrative responsibilities, and other projects or assignments given by the Community Director or Regional Director. Specific duties include:

  • Ensuring leasing procedures are followed on a daily basis
  • Managing availability guidelines and reviewing leasing follow up weekly
  • Receiving incoming phone calls from prospects and enticing them to visit the community
  • Visually inspecting the entire property daily for cleanliness and overall appearance
  • Leasing apartments to qualified prospects and scheduling move-ins to minimize rent loss
  • Preparing all paperwork needed before submitting lease files for verification
  • Conducting move-in, move-out, and turnkey inspections and following through with any concerns
  • Maintaining key closet procedures and dress code
  • Assisting in lease renewal procedures
  • Assembling move-in packages and keeping all filing current
  • Operating the office alarm system and delivering thorough move-in presentations to new residents
  • Calculating daily rent, prorate charges, late fees, and percentages
  • Writing up all maintenance requests upon receipt

Qualifications

The Leasing Consultant should have:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with people
  • Ability to maintain a professional image
  • Strong organizational and verbal skills
  • Excellent customer service orientation and assertive attitude
  • Ability to effectively "close" a sale
  • Experience in leasing properties to prospective residents and managing current residents
  • Experience using Knock, Onesite, and AIRM
  • A valid Driver's License

Pay

The salary range for this position is $24-25 per hour, with paid coefficient overtime for all hours worked over 40 each week.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, type, handle or feel objects, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, stoop, and squat. The employee is intermittently required to sit. Incumbents must be able to physically access all exterior and interior parts of the property and amenities, and push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of up to twenty (20) pounds independently.
