About the role
The Leasing Consultant handles every step of the leasing cycle in an affordable-housing setting governed by fair-housing regulations.
Responsibilities
- Greet prospective residents, follow up with prospects, conduct community tours, process applications, prepare leases, and close sales
- Provide superior customer service and update unit availability/waitlist
- Understand and communicate community amenities, rents, specials, and competitor offerings
- Conduct off-site marketing and assist in preparing marketing surveys
- Screen incoming residents by objective qualification standards
- Maintain an acceptable leasing closing ratio and record daily traffic in activity reports
- Assist with resident programs, retention, and coordination of resident functions
- Process resident recertifications
- Perform other duties assigned by the Assistant Manager or Community Manager
Requirements
- Prior leasing, customer service, or sales experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, One-Site Property Management Software, and the Internet
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required

Pay
Non-exempt position with an anticipated hourly range of $21–$25, depending on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. Eligible for overtime for hours worked over 40 per week and may receive discretionary or performance-based bonuses.
Schedule
Full-time (30+ hours/week) with 2 weeks paid vacation, 3 weeks sick and related leave, and 11 paid holidays.
