About the role

The Learning & Development Manager builds strategic capability development at scale that aligns with business priorities. The role requires strong consulting and stakeholder engagement skills to identify learning needs, design and deliver learning solutions, and evaluate learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and consult with stakeholders across the organization to understand learning needs and skills gaps.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess competency and development gaps using assessment tools and performance evaluations.
  • Design and implement innovative learning programs, including leadership development, soft skills, and career development pathways.
  • Utilize a mix of learning delivery methods—digital learning platforms, instructor-led workshops, and experiential learning—to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Establish scalable metrics and evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness of learning programs and their impact on employee performance and business outcomes.
  • Communicate the value and impact of learning programs to encourage participation and support from all levels of the organization.
  • Regularly review and update learning programs based on feedback and changing organizational needs.
  • Design and deploy development experiences across managerial and non-managerial groups aligned to talent development mapping, including high-potential employees and future leaders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Learning & Development, with a track record of designing and implementing successful learning programs.
  • NQF 7 or bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred).

Skills

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, e-learning authoring, and multimedia tools for content creation (including AI).
  • Adherence to governance and processes.
  • Data-driven approach to learning and development.
  • Program management, with the ability to lead multiple learning initiatives simultaneously.
  • Confident communication and facilitation skills.
  • Self-starter, able to work under pressure.
