Leadperson

Assists Operations Management in daily plant activities and operations, ensuring safety and compliance. May conduct training, troubleshoot issues, and communicate work assignments. Requires physical labor and outdoor work, with potential overtime and reassignment to other plant duties.

Responsibilities

• Assists Operations Management in the daily coordination of plant activities and operations, making sound decisions.
• Responsible for the safety of employees, visitors, and themselves; enforces all Company and regulatory policies, rules, and regulations.
• Conducts site-specific training for employees, vendors, and others at the facility.
• Assists in troubleshooting production issues.
• Communicates with employees regarding work assignments and correcting problems.
• Communicates with managers and supervisors regarding plant and employee needs.
• Evaluates operator reports, provides clear and constructive feedback, and trains inexperienced personnel.
• Understands material flow, crushing, screening, and stockpiling processes of an aggregate operation; adjusts plant settings for optimal production efficiency.
• May assist with financial reports, payroll, or procurement activities.
• Performs environmental reporting as required.
• Fills in for absent employees due to vacation, sickness, etc.
• May be reassigned to other duties in the plant as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Previous experience in the mining or construction industry.
• Exhibits high levels of competency, skill, and proficiency in daily mining operations.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with excellent driving skills.
• Able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to loud noises.
• Able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, pull, push, bend, and lift 50 pounds.
• May be required to wear a respirator.
• Able to work required overtime, which may include up to or more than 12 hours per day and up to 7 days per week.
